Who poisoned Charles Petrie? Florrie Williams the maid who served him his final drink? Dr James Collymore, a man with a dark secret? Burt Kemp, a groom with a grudge? Mrs Jennet Quinn, the housekeeper with a deep knowledge of poisons? Or Grace Petrie, Charles’ troubled wife of four months? All will be revealed in Saving Grace by Hannah Howe.
While researching Saving Grace I read a letter from 1923, written by a retired High Court judge who knew the people involved in the factual case my novel is based on. Independently, we reached the same conclusion – the identity of the person who poisoned Charles Petrie. Are we right? All the factual evidence will be placed in my book so, if you should read it on publication, you can decide for yourself 😃
